Time for Brock Yates' One Lap of America
It is almost that time of year again. What time? Time to get ready for another adventure on Brock Yates’ One Lap of America. Many of you may know that Highland Design has been the official photographer for this event since 2003 and this year will be our 11thconsecutive year.
For those not fully versed in this motorsports event, just stop by the One Lap of America site for some background and history. At least I will say that it is the brainchild of Brock Yates, the legendary journalist who came up with the Cannonball Run. Yes, like in the movie, and yes it really happened. His son, also Brock, has been carrying on the event and will be celebrating it's 30th year.
See our video that highlights the event and what it means to the many who join each year traveling around this country and racing at some of the best racetrack.
This year we will travel approximately 3,800 mile in one week. We start in South Bend Indiana at the Tire Rack main headquarters, travel south as far as New Orleans, east to Daytona, then head back North through Pennsylvania and then back to South Bend. For Highland Design, this means we will total over 50,000 One Lap miles, over these past 11 years.
The cover photo is one of our latest studio photos and is of the 2008 Mitsubishi Evolution X GSR, owned by Stephen Burke, which has run in the One Lap of America since 2009.
Stay tune for some more updates especially to see what we will be driving as our official car.
